We survey the roof and the immediate area affected by the roof for potentially problematic issues, this includes ventilation, low slopes, flashings, eaves and troughs. Based on this we can provide recommendations for repairs, product options and a plan for the roofing project. We provide a detailed estimate and take the time to review and explain our findings with you and discuss the options.

We make sure that all personal items are out of the way or protected from potential harm during the roofing process. This includes protecting shrubbery, plants, decks, moving lawn furniture, and/or other items from the immediate vicinity. Tarps are placed under the work area to catch debris and plywood is put down on decks/windows to prevent damage. Our crew will remove the existing roofing material down to the roof deck. The deck surface, and any other wood will be inspected for damaged or rotten wood.

Different materials require surface products such as paper or peel and stick materials to be laid over the deck surface before installing your shingles or other roofing material. On all sloped roofing systems as a minimum we use ice and water shield for the eaves/valleys and synthetic underlayment on the entire roof deck.

The roof installation begins at the eaves with new drip edge as we work our way up to the ridge completing the install. On the way up penetration flashings (pipes, vents) are replaced and new attic venting is installed. We follow manufacturers recommended installation methods and the guidelines from ARCA (Alberta Roofing Contractors Association).

Cleaning happens during all parts of the process and final clean up of all protective materials and finishing touches to the area. All flashings are caulked, troughs are cleaned and a magnet is used to find any stray nails. We aim to leave your property as clean or cleaner than when we started.

When your project is completed and inspected we will do a final walk-through and at that time, discuss your warranties, billing, and maintenance tips.
